Owners can submit their site for a specific category. Since directories tend to be smaller than general search engines websites are easier to find. In fact search engines crawl directories to return quality links to users.

3. eZines: Use the power of electronic magazines, ezines. Publishing an ezine delivers current information to your target audience about your product or service. Within the ezine you can direct your ezine readers to visit your website for more information, promotions or discounts. When a reader clicks on the link in your ezine they are creating traffic to your site. Increased traffic improves your website page rank.
Another terrific value of ezines is readers can forward them to people they think will benefit from the information. This, in effect, creates a type of “word of mouth” recommendation. If the recipient clicks on the links in your ezine you are benefiting from even more traffic to your site. As you can see the increase in traffic will help your page rank.
